Although the company has expanded significantly since then, it still has a strong presence within the Mennonite community and caters to the needs of those individuals.
Aside from auto and home insurance, Goodville Mutual also insures churches, farms, and some businesses. Policies are brokered exclusively through agents in each of the states covered by the company.
Goodville Mutual sells auto insurance to individuals. Policies come with your choice of standard coverages, including liability, collision, comprehensive and uninsured motorist. There are optional add-ons available such as lease gap, vehicle replacement, towing, trip interruption and more.
The company offers a “Personal Auto Plus” package that combines many of the optional coverages sold by the company as well as accident forgiveness and a deductible waiver available under certain circumstances, such as when your car is hit by another Goodville Mutual vehicle.
Property insurance is available for homes and their contents as well as other structures on your property. Depending on the policy you buy, you can obtain protection from a variety of common perils; the more expensive plans have added protections.
Goodville Mutual also offers liability insurance for the insured and his or her resident family members. For people living on small farms, a Country Home insurance plan is available for properties with up to 80 acres and farm-type buildings. If you have a commercial farm, you’ll need to purchase a specific farm policy instead.
Goodville Mutual offers several types of specialty insurance for churches, farms and businesses. These are marketed in large part toward members of the Mennonite community, but others can take advantage of them as well.

Since Goodville Mutual policies are sold through independent agencies, there is no way to obtain a quote online or through a customer service phone number. Instead, you’ll want to choose the “Find an Agent” option from the website and select your state. That will help you find a local agent so that you can get a quote for coverage.
Goodville Mutual members with an account on the website can report a claim online by clicking “Report a Claim” on the site’s main page. There is no way to file a claim online as a non-member.
Otherwise, you can file by calling your local agent or the emergency claims line at 877-445-5780. Once you’ve made the initial report, an adjuster will follow up to discuss coverage, arrange an inspection if necessary and begin moving the claim toward closure.
Although the company is not accredited, Goodville Mutual has an “A-” rating with the Better Business Bureau, with just one complaint listed against the company.
Overall, there are few consumer reports about Goodville, although one suit was brought against the company for a claim the insured believed was incorrectly denied.
Goodville has relatively little online presence, with about 350 “Likes” on its Facebook page. Other social media profiles are similarly barren. Considering that a large portion of the company’s target audience is Mennonite, this is not surprising.

Goodville Insurance is a small regional insurer, with a fairly straight forward, user friendly website. This is clearly a company that prefers to work within its community. If you’re looking for specialty coverage, particularly for a church or small farm, the coverages here seem well-suited to the task. For more general insurance, it may be worth looking into it further, but you can probably find the same or better offerings elsewhere.
